I believe for men a physician of your gender, sexual persuasion, and approximate age can better relate to you.

My wife gets really upset when I suggest that Lesbian Doctors are on a mission to save women so they would be best for her to use.

I think in an ideal world I would appreciate a male doctor who was compassionate and understanding. I have had too many bad experiences with male doctors just telling me it was all in my head. No fun. My experience is that female doctors have been more compassionate and willing to listen. Very frustrating because as mentioned I would prefer a male doctor.

I really do not have a preference. I grew up with a male pediatrician. I had a lot of problems "down there" that most other kids never have, and he took care of me. My parents never even hinted that I should be more comfortable with a female doctor. My best friend as a kid was the first one to say she wouldn't like a male doctor and thought it was weird that I never thought about it. Now my primary care doctor is female, and my doctors for OB/GYN and urology are males. Doctors and other medical professionals have to work with dozens of bodies of different ages, genders, and conditions. I don't think there is room for embarrassment on either end.

Male doctor. I wouldn't let a female doctor ever touch me.

I've never been to one but it would matter a lot. Would only accept a man.

Don't blame her.

I've only been to the doctor once and chose a male. I want a male unless I'm unconscious and can't choose.

I suppose I wouldn't mind a woman for minor things like ETN or ophthalmology. But a man if possible.
