I'm on Depo. It has not decreased my sex drive or turned me into a hormonal mess. In fact the only reason I'm on it is not for the birth control, but because it stopped my periods and reduced my cramps to somewhat manageable levels. Since I have a history of blood clots, the doctor doesn't want me to take the pill and an IUD is not an option, since again it's not the birth control, but the period elimination I need. If it weren't for the periods there wouldn't even be the Depo, since there is no need for bc.
