Eating a clove of raw garlic helps clear all that gunk up. It acts as a natural antibiotic. If you don't like the taste, make sure you drink something to kill the taste (milk works for me)
The second I feel I'm getting a cold (you know what I mean - kinda outta sorts, scratchy throat, a bit of the sniffles), I reach for the Zicam cold remedy plus. Normally within a day and a half, all traces of the cold are gone. Oh, and high doses of Vitamin C.
I lie in bed and watch TV and make people bring me things and complain a lot, and throw my tissues on the floor, and teach the children a lot of really bad language. It works. The cold always goes away after a few days.
Does anyone know if you have some mild yellow with the mucus, but no temperature, does that mean you need antibiotics? My doctor always want me on antibiotics if there is any yellow, but I don't like to abuse antibiotic use.

I think your doctor will tell you that. But I always seem to notice it goes away on its own. The garlic and fluids help me quite a bit
I seldom self medicate. I give my immune system a little time to deal with a common cold. I do drink oj as for some reason I crave it when I get a common cold or flu like symptoms. I figure my body craves the vitamin c in oj when I catch a cold.
Replace your toothbrush! It harbors the cold germs, you keep reinfecting yourself. I also run toothbrushes through the dishwasher.
