The top layer of skin is peeling off of my hands in small (almost circular) sections. They look extremely dry and lotion only helps for a matter of minutes. So far there had not been any pain associated with the peeling and only a small amount of itching. I think it's eczema.
Are there any treatments that does not include a trip to the doctor and expensive ointments?
You could try raw, virgin, organic coconut oil/butter.
You can find it at the health food store (in the food section - not skin care section) or order it on-line.
I recently sent my 78 year old friend a jar.
He's been having skin issues on his face for the past few years exacerbated when he doesn't shave well.
I think it was some kind of fungal issue and/or eczema (is eczema a fungal issue?).
Anyway, after a month of use his skin has cleared ... completely!
Someone else on this forum reported that her rosacea cleared up with use of the coconut oil.
