The enduring mystery about what happened to Amelia Earhart may be a step closer to finally being solved: A group dedicated to discovering the aviator's fate says it has found three bone fragments that may belong to her.
If their identity is confirmed, the bones would appear to indicate that after disappearing during an attempted circumnavigation of the globe in 1937, Earhart may have survived for weeks as a castaway on a remote and uninhabited island in the South Pacific.
TIGHAR has been looking for Earhart on Nikumororo for a while... But I still don't think it's her. She's probably 15,0000 under the water in a well preserved Electra.
I hope it is, so that the theories can be put to rest, but I agree with the previous poster. It is very unlikely that those bones are hers. I have a feeling at some point, she will be discovered and it is very likely that her plane will be discovered in the Ocean.

I wish I could find a couple of bone fragments and then make claims PRIOR to having them tested (an easy test that takes little time or cost).
Really, this seems like grandstanding for whomever is paying their search costs that they are finding *something* lol. Any REAL search wouldn't keep throwing out claims before basic testing, watch them find out they aren't even human. LOL.

The article I read said that they found a large turtle shell nearby, which led to speculation that they used it as a freshwater catchbasin, but it also said the bones could turn out to be turtle bones, lol.
So what I want to know is, how did the turtle fly the plane?
Oh wait, I'm confused.
