Actually, the forced Ukrainian famines, the Great Leap Forward, political prisoners throughout the communist world, and nuclear proliferation (though the last one was done by democracies too) were definitely not "tragic side effects. Perhaps Chernobyl and the general shortages of everything would count as unintentional, but they have plenty of other things worth calling them evil for.
A communist hates you because of what you do; choices you made like to be a capitalist or a reactionary. But a Nazi hates you because of what you were born, a thing you had no choice over. IMO that makes Nazis worse..

The regime did in fact preach Russian chauvinism and Poles, Romanians, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Germans, Finns, Tatars, Greeks, Turks, Koreans, Mongolians, Chechens, and Ingushs were all violently deported PURELY for their ethnicity. It was Communists who starved to death an entire population of Ukrainians in the most clear cut example of genocide in history.
Stalin killed 30 million of his own people from time he seized controll,till he died in the 1950s,and many of them were military.that is why it took them so long to beat the nazis,stalin had killed all the officers!in my view,no race of people or hate group has killed people more efficently and brutally than the nazis did!they were and will always be the percanifacation of true evil in history!

Primarily a Russian problem not a communist one and many of those acts had their roots in Tsarist policies and expansionism. None of that was inherant to communism whereas Nazi atrocities were inherant to it's political philosophy. One might argue that Stalin wasn't a very good communist but Hitler was a perfect Nazi.
Listen, I'm not claiming violence isn't inherant to communism; it's inherant in all political systems and a good communist could be aces with destroying entire social classes. I'm talking about the reasons for violence. Nationalism would seem to be the cause of most of the violence you mention.

You exaggerate; I doubt it's as clear cut an example as the German destruction of European Jewry; for one thing the Soviets armed Ukrainian militias and set them loose on the Poles, initiating the "Polish Shift". You don't see any examples of the Germans arming Jews and sending them out to fight; the Germans killed every Jew they could, obviously the Soviets didn't kill every Ukrainian nor did they attempt to.
I think the communists are worse because they are still around there are still communist countries in existance, and we're buying things from them. People go on and on abiut the nazi's even though they were obliterated 65 years ago. communism hasn't slowed down at all millions people are still suffering greatly because of them.
