I have read, that John Tyler has more descendants than any other President has.

The late actor Tony Randall, fathered his only two children at age 77 and 78.

It may have had something more to do with his young wife needing a child for a stipulation in the will to take effect...

Not crazy at all.

I'm pretty sure my first grade teacher was older than that, possibly born during the civil war.

Can that be possible? Wow. Those links wirh the past are fascinating. I always thought it was amazing that the last Civil War soldier (a Confederate) died in 1959 when I was alive. I guess that means that there were many slaves that were still alive then, too.

Will people 100 years from now say, "My great grandfather was actually born during the OBAMA administration...."???

Living links with the distant past are fascinating.
MY father was the same way. He was born in 1900 and knew his grandfather who was born in 1814. Gfather died in 1909. I was fascinated.

My father in law spend the entire WW2 at German headquarters on the eastern front. There was a garden outside his window where Hitler would walk ungarded everyday when he was there. My fatherin law said he could easily have shot him as he walked around.

I'm guessing since you are in Round Rock, it was in Texas. A family friend claims to be related to Jesse James with the story that he indeed came to and died in Texas.

These are some great tidbits. Makes you realize how people from different times overlap.

There is an old folks home near my elementary school. Sometimes when I walk by it, I think that when I was in first grade (1971), it was probably loaded with WWI vets.
