Brief history of Omega (origin, Greek, military, years)

I've always been partial to Bulova especially the classic tuning fork Accutrons and the 214's in particular. While Omega "won" the right to be the first "watch on the moon" since they could certify their watch was dust proof; all of the time keeping instrumentation on the spacecraft featured a Bulova 214 movement. That same movement was also used in military satellites and the DOD attempted to delay Bulova from commercially offering the Accutron movement so it wouldn't fall into Soviet hands, lol. The Accutron also became the first "rail road approved" wristwatch, proving it's incredible accuracy.

I have a couple of the older ones, though I do not have an original 1960. The reproduction version is on my wish list as they are quite collectible.
