Colombus was black, his real name was Cocombus and he had a fair skin because his father was Leif Erikson.

I know what you mean, its like the silly notion that Ancient Egyptians painted themselves black in the monuments yet Europeans claim it was "symbolic" lol. Never mind, the ancient people of Kush also painted themselves on their monuments the exact same way the Egyptians did, and it is not under debate that the people of Kush were black. Never mind also DNA and limb ratios show that the ancient Egyptians were no different physically than the Southern Egyptians of today (who are also black). Or how the people of Mesopotamia were supposedly white yet all archaeological evidence shows them to have been black. Not to mention the language spoken there was a language of ancient Kush, and the people who saw them such as the Greeks called them "ethiopis" i.e. Negros. Revisionist history is always a hoot.

As far as the Sumerians of Mesopotamia.

Can you point to any Sumerian artwork where they portray themselves as black people? Most Sumerian artwork I've seen portray themselves as non black and probably looking similar to Iraq's current population.

As for the Sumerian language being the same as that of Kush/Nubia. Well to this day linguist aren't even sure how to classify the Sumerian language so I don't see how their language can be the same as the Nubian language which is classified as a known Nilo-Saharan language.

When did the Greeks see the Sumerians and write about them? The Sumerians were long gone before the Greeks developed a civilization.

Quote:
Sumerian is a difficult language to classify partly because it is the first known language to use a system of writing. Accordingly, it has no known roots. Adding to the difficulty, Akkhadian languages supplanted it--so it leaves no known linguistic descendants.

Non-Indo-European Languages.

Yeah these threads are always infected by Afrocentrists whose grasp of history is shall we say weak.

They painted themselves Brown. Black Americans need to get over this notion that everyone on the planet with Brown skin is "Black".

Actually, these type of threads are used by Eurocentrists and others to point out that the negroid race never had any civilizations and kingdoms, hence they aren't smart enough and civilized like other races and haven't contributed anything to mankind.

Well that would be incorrect as well. Two wrongs don't make a right.

pfft. Actually, that is silly, along the lines of saying the CNN forums are intelligent discussions of news stories. Yeah, crackpots and trolls will use any method available to promote themselves. They even write "historical" tomes and try to pass them off as factual.

Africans most certainly did have various kingdoms, and did build permanent stone structures. Funding for exploration and on-site archeology has been lacking, and local turmoil has made expeditions a challenge.

First Sumerian statue pic has Blue eyes. Second has alot of fair skinned folks. Iraq is not a Black country, but modern Iraqis look nothing like those in the pics.
