During the war, it was agression between several major powers. To symphasize with the Viet Minh is not the same as supporting them. As wrong as our government may have been, our troops were doing the right thing and performing a job--whether or not we agree if it was right, the troops' job was honorable.
I did not see the people of Viet-Nam as the cause anymore than I would hold the US troops responsible for what happened in the war. Our troops are sent in to do a job and WAR IS UGLY and sometimes terrible things happen that we are in no position to understand at the time they happen.
