My theory is that these 'UFO's were nothing more than U.S. test pilots returned to earth after prolonged exposure to radiation...
In space your exposed to electromagnetic radioactive waves and atomic nuclei....
When this radiation comes into contact with human flesh this is what it does...it effects the very atoms in our bodies...
It knocks electrons off their orbit, within atoms, that make up DNA and other cells, protiens ect ect...this causes mutations....
And like the Russians sent that poor dog into space to fry, I believe back then Russia and the U.S. experimented with men...maybe former criminals, or volunteers or people taken from at the time 'back wood countries'...people taken, who would not be missed per say...
And I think these unfortunate men were sacrificed in the name of science...mutated either before leaving...or mutated after exposure to space radiation...and then brought back into orbit...
That's why often times people reported these martians as being 'dead'...
It is well known that back dureing that era, our government, as well as others, saw no moral issues with experimenting on people...like the Tuskegee incident, where they purposly injected people with sifilas...
Anyways...just my theory...but one based in plausability...
UFO's are, were, human test subjects...
The US tested its Mercury spacecraft with chimps before sending humans up in them. The Mercury astronauts were made fun of by their fellow test pilots since "a monkey could fly the Mercury capsulre." Which was more or less true (ignoring the fact that chimps aren't monkeys) as the chimps were trained to properly pilot the capsule back from space in response to a series of electric shocks administered to the chimp's feet. You can even see the graves of some of the "monkey-nauts" at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL.
A deep space mission could be simulated much cheaper and more precisely on earth than in space, and as there is no evidence any spacefaring nation or organization has ever gotten past even the prelimary stages of a deep space mission there's no reason for it to have ever been conducted anyways.
If only Hoover hadn't been so busy covering up the FBI's leading role in the assassinations of JFK, MLK Jr., RFK and the attempted assassination of Larry Flynt, as well as having to clandestinely maintain Elvis and Marlyn Monroe on that uncharted island after abducting them, not to mention all the work the FBI put into helping NASA stage that fake moon landing....then Hoover might have had the time to fully expose this UFO conspiracy.
Don't forget that living on that unchartered island is also Jimmy Hoffa, Marilyn Murray O'Hare, Gilligan, the Skipper, the Movie Star, the Professor, the Millionaire, his wife, and Maryann!
Amelia Earhart was responsible for flying all the missing people to that secret island.
Which I understand was located in the Bermuda Triangle.
