I have heard from US veterans from World Wars, Korean War and Vietnam War that the torture in Asian countries was horrible compared to other places in the world.
Has anyone heard from veteran relatives or friends about first hand expereinces?
You mean elsewhere in the world the torture is nice? I doubt that some poor counter revolutionary in Central America with his genitalia wired to a Die Hard, would agree with the idea.

For example, I was always told that the Germans would treat American POWs with more respect than the Japanese did during WW2.
There are documented events where Nazis were so disgusted by the Japanese atrocities that they were writing Hitler to tell the Japanese to cool it. (you know you got it bad if this happened). The Japanese also did this to the Chinese as well. This is not something to research if you have a weak stomach. During this period hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians and disarmed soldiers were murdered and 20,000-80,000 men, women and children were raped by soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army.
There were mass groups of psychotic bisexual and pediphile Asian Soldiers raping and killing everyone.

Brutality and warfare go hand in hand, but I am on record as saying the Japanese Imperial Army exceeded any example of it in history. I wouldn't say that is any reflection on asia, as diverse as it is, although certainly "war torture" was a particular staple in the recent Korean and Vietnam conflicts as well. Funny how the Germans are disgusted by the Japanese Soldiers but don;t utter a word about their systematic extermination of millions of Jews...
Germany has uttered many words about the sins of it's past. Not defending the evil's of nazism, but it's funny how Germany now denounces it's wartime past to such a degree that it is against the law to display a swastika, while Japan has monuments in downtown Tokyo to its war criminals.
Germany killed in a mechanical, impersonal, systematic process, using all the modern tools at it's disposal. Japan killed by disembowlment, multiple bayonet woundings, beheading contests with swords, raping to death, starving to death, running over with tanks and vehicles, burying alive, bayonet training, tying up and allowing combat dogs to dismember and eat, and other way even more graphic, of if the victim was lucky it was by bullet in the head or mowed down by machine gun.
For Germany - it was killing for purposes of ethnic cleansing.
For Japan - it was killing for sport and pleasure.

The Germans used systematic and efficent plans, using everything they could get, be it hair, work til they couldn't, any possessions, money, gold teeth. They organized and planned. The Japanese did too, but mostly in places where nobody survived (and records were destroyed). Perhaps to the Germans the crude and violent ways their vicutms were tortured, not even as part of some official gameplan, *seemed* terrible. Of course it was someone else doing it. Maybe they didn't see it in their own cold and industrial plans.
