Just wanted to correct my last post, in that Haldeman and Ehrlichman were the ones that met with Helms at the CIA, not Dean, and it was Nixon's idea to use the CIA to deflect the FBI. Dean had done the most work in the coverup, and worked closely with the president to get a game plan going. I doubt that Nixon had enough money to keep the break in team quiet for the rest of his life, but clearly he had at least 1 million in funds from somewhere to work with. That bought a lot more hush in 1972 than it does today, but McCord was too pricy or too honest, lol. I guess if I had to go from security chief to burglar, I might be kinda upset about going to prison too.

A bit more on Martha Mitchell, she started jabbering on the phone about Watergate to Helen Thomas, and they pulled her off the phone, drug her off and had her forcibly sedated, then locked her away. She knew nothing about Watergate. John Mitchell was one stone cold dude for sure, he never confessed to anything up to his dying day, his wife died while he was in prison.

They got Hunt's name and White House office number from Barker's address book. They first learned of Liddy from Baldwin.

I do not know the actual circumstances, but my guess is that they were a barbershop quartet group which was hired ad hoc to record this one song. Obviously since "CREEP" references the "Committee to Re-Elect The President", the quartet became "CREEP" just for the purposes of this one recording. Otherwise we would have to believe that the song was written and then the author or producer somehow found a group already using the name "CREEP."

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like a reasonable suggestion.

My how time flys. One of the first things I can recollect watching bits and pieces of on TV, catching glimpses of the proceedings while mom was giving me the, " You're either in or out, your're letting too much AC out the house coming and going". I think it ticked her off ruining her soap operas back in pre-cable 3 channel days.
