What are you talking about? Russianonline came to this American board all the way from Russia to disseminate his BS. My question was why?
What is the point? We don't go to Russian boards to persuade anybody there...

When debating with another person, regardless of where they come from, it's logical to attack the person's argument rather than to attack the person making the argument. Failure to do this causes "debate" to break down altogether and then it's like two children arguing about whose daddy is the best as if we're in the schoolyard and it's recess.

Moreover, attacking the person rather than the person's argument or line of reasoning makes the one doing the attacking appear to have few arguments of their own because no actual counterclaims are being made.

I have not read all of the rules of this forum, but I doubt that it excludes the participation of people from other countries. If I'm mistaken on this, then please correct me.

Can we maybe redirect this topic before it gets locked? I think it's a worthy question and it seems like we're just getting lost in personal attacks now.
