BBC News - Raising Israel's Altalena ship 'a lesson for the future'
Quote:
A project to raise a sunken ship in Israel, the Altalena, is stirring up painful memories of a violent confrontation between the army of the newborn state and the Irgun Jewish paramilitary group, reports PRI The World's Matthew Bell.
Schoolchildren in Israel this year are studying two former prime ministers - David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin. Next year 2013 will be the 100th anniversary of Begin's birth, and 40 years since Ben Gurion's death.
All these years later, Israeli authorities believe there is a great deal to learn from the two national icons.

Chava....

I'm going to guess that you read the rules for the Most Informative Poster" contest, noticed the part where posters were encouraged to reopen old threads and make new contributions....and have misinterpreted that to mean that you should reopen multitudes of old threads and make any sort of quick, passing comment just to log a bunch of participation credits which you think will impress the judges.

If that is indeed what you are doing, it isn't going to work.

Knock it off, you're just shoving the active topics off the front page with your deluded selfishness.

Personal attacks also are against the rules (such as the last sentence of your posting).

I'll take your attempt to misdirect the focus from your offense as an admission of guilt.

It's bad enough when some newbie does it in error...
but to actively encourage the practice?

I really wish they would make a practice of closing old threads...
X posts vs Y weeks of inactivity = lock

Nor do you seem to be denying them.

So, how about it? Were you not doing precisely what I said that you were doing for exactly the reason I stated?

If not, then as Ricky Ricardo frequently said...."Joo gots some 'splaining to do."

If not wanting to see this forum gets spammed is offensive, put me down as offensive.
