I was looking through our old family smoke house(Building used to hang meat back in the day) last night and found an old dusty cardboard box labeled "pictures" on it. I opened it up and found a gold mine! My mom past last February and I never knew about these pictures. I'm so glad she kept all these and stored them.
I haven't had the time to look through all of them but I have found photos dating back to the 1920s so far of my family. Found an award my grandma received in school with a date of 1927.
My granddad built a store beside the house where locals would buy farm supplies, hardware and beer back in the 1940s. I found newspaper clippings from where a drunk shot into my grand dad's house, my grand dad shot back at him from inside the house and accidently shot the sheriff that was trying to take down the drunk. Thankfully the sheriff and my grand dad were friends.
Found an old picture of Bill Carlisle and his band from what it looks like the 1950s and Bill Carlisle signed "Best Wishes" and his signature on it.
Found a lot of other stuff but I'll stop there. While looking at all these old pictures, I was wishing I could go back and experience what life was like back then.
