You know the real pity? Most people that you stop in the street couldn't name 10 Presidents, let alone discuss their accomplishments and so forth.
It's not a problem in this forum, but it is throughout the USA in general.

My own stepdaughter, age 44, missed Abraham Lincoln's birth date by over 100 years! That's sad.

Yeah, widow's & children's benefits is such a free ride! So much better to have widowed mothers prostituting themselves or stealing to survive, and kids going to bed with empty stomachs. That's the true mark of high civilization.





One of the worst mistakes a Pres. ever made was when Eisenhower approved a presidential coup in Guatemala. That set in motion events that lead to the bloody genocide of the 80's, extrajudicial executions of citizens as the norm, a collapse of the economy (previously one of Central America's most successful), and a stream of war refugees flooding into the US. The successful coup also gave US gov't security agencies and Presidential advisers the gumption to convince Kennedy that the Bay of Pigs was a good idea.
