I did and they definitely aren't. Let's see. Double-digit unemployment and interest rates in the high teens. Runaway gas prices. Tax rates at the punitive level. Sky-high crime rates. The Soviets running amok. The list goes on and on. I cannot imagine that anyone would say things were better in 1980 than they are today.

Ok. You said "The middle class of previous generations were a hell of a lot better off than the middle class of today is or ever was"..............which is incorrect on its face because the middle class of today never "was", it only "is".

So, back it up. Tell us all which previous generation had it better. Be brave, now. Come out of your Occupy Wall Street tent and speak your mind.

Actually, you were born in 1976. I wasn't that far off.

Occupy Wall Street? LoL I don't buy into that hardcore leftist BS. Never have, never will. I never asked for my college costs to be forgiven, instead I put a few years in the military to get a GI Bill to pick up the tab. The rest was paid for with scholarships and grants. The only issues I take any kind of liberal stance on are most social issues. Not all, but most. When it comes to most fiscal issues, I actually take a conservative stance. Again, most but not all. And no, it's not self-contradictory. Your jaw would smack the floor in sheer awe and amazement at how many Americans don't lean left or right. Instead, we prefer to stand straight up.

And to answer your question, I think each previous generation was better off. Even my pre-Boomer parents agree.

Actually, 1975. You were close, but you're still 0 for 2. Crazy as this may sound, there's nothing wrong with asking me about my personal details. Ok? There's no need for guesses and presumptions. Did you just look up my previous posts to deduce my birth year? Wow, I am really flattered that you expended such energy in an attempt to dig up something on me!

I didn't research it at all. Just happened on it in the education forum on the graduation thread. You simply volunteered your graduation year.
