Not an assumption it was a fact so I would not be sacrificing lives but saving lives.

If your historical revision narrative were accurate, then why did Japan not surrender after Hiroshima?

ANSWER - they had division within their leadership - hardly the sign of a nation ready to accede to terms of peace, especially given their past behavior.

If your false version is true, then Nagasaki should have never happened.

What tripe. We used the Bomb to stop a war, not to start one. And we haven't used it since.

Besides Japan had been trying to surrender,
No, they were trying to ease out of it with their command structure intact and the war hawks in their cabinet still running things, free to start building up with the same people in charge later. That's hardly a "surrender", and for obvious reasons was completely unacceptable.

Not sure where you're getting your "information". You need to do a lot of homework.

The head of security was to ashamed to show her face.
Oh, Boo-Friggety-Hoo.

We now know that the Japanese, the Russians, and Germans were working on nuclear bomb programs themselves. If any one of these countries had beaten us to it, does any thinking person really believe they wouldn't have used it?

Thank heaven we got there first.

War is hell. Have you ever been to the memorial in Hiroshima, and read the comments people all over the world leave in the guest book?
