So we paid a little visit to the Enola Gay.

To any Japanese at this site I would like to ask for forgiveness for what my government did in my name.

Get over it.

They started it and we finished it.

That was one hell of a BBQ.

Topped my hero General Sherman by a long shot.

Why ask for forgiveness?

The Japs attacked Pearl Harbor, viciously and brutally mistreated people in Nanking, were ruthless in war, killed many U.S. soldiers, and would have killed more had we invaded their homeland.

Look what happened on Okinawa.

The bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved live on both sides of the conflict.

Don't buy into the ludicrous liberal handwringing.

President Truman had his faults, but he knew how to act on his convictions, and his decision to drop the bombs was a tragic but necessary action, and he ought to be commended for his courage.

Thank you President Truman - you saved the planet.

By using the bomb we showed that we were no better than the enemy.
Besides Japan had been trying to surrender, it was well known that Japan could only carry on the war effort for at most several months, they were beaten.

The problem with many people is that once they believe a lie they will not accept the truth when told.

If your were POTUS in August 1945, how many U.S. lives would you be willing to sacrifice based on that inane assumption?

Would anyone here kill another person's child if that person had killed yours?
I think most people wouldn't unless that other child had a different color skin and spoke a foreign language, very sad but true.

Are you conflating war with homicide on the street?

Why are you race-baiting?
