Bieber, what was Frankie Avalon, Deon, and Paul Petersen?

Mod cut: Inappropriate language.

In all seriousness, they were the same thing as Michael Jackson: Bieber without Auto-Tune. Bieber on his own is a decent singer with a better range than most who get into pop music (don't hate – check him out singing a capella and you have to admit its true). The over-production of it is offputting. The same applies to some recent albums by older artists like Metallica and Alice in Chains. If you look at the waveform of those songs it is like a brick. The "Loudness Wars" is amazingly capable of ruining what would otherwise be good music.

Edit: Here is a 2009 AIC song's waveform. Disgusting. We bought the record and it is unlistenable on good stereo equipment.

Probably not too much, depending on their knowledge of technology. I guess the internet and mobile devices were probably not thought of as much as robots doing everything back in the 50s.

I'd probably argue that 50's person from a time machine is wondering why nothing changed!

Default Easily the most difficult thing to explain...

Easily the most difficult thing to explain:

Nearly everyone carries a small device, a smart phone, that fits into their shirt pocket, that provides access to virtually the entire record of human knowledge, but is used primarily to look at pictures of cats and to argue with strangers.

Smile Neighborhood changes

You have to lock your doors now.

Your kids can't be as free as they did back in 1950.

How come women don't wear skirts and dresses anymore? They wear pants and jeans!

You mean cartoons are on more than just Saturday morning?

Why can't I have a paper route?

Why do all the kids get driven to school? Don't they ride their bikes or walk anymore?

Why can't daddy fix the car?

Uncle Billy has been married how many times?!!?!

Excellent.

I expect the visitor from the 1950s would observe that people today seem sullen and listless, fidgeting with their devices.
