Every september 15th we celebrate the independence day of this beautiful country, but who made it possible, who was the father of this nation?

Miguel Hidalgo is the true father of Mexico, he achieved to abolish slavery in Mexico in 1810!

Every September 15th the grito (shout) of independence Father Miguel Hidalgo's 1810 abolishment of slavery which helped set off the War of Independence.

He was a priest, and a criollo (term used for childrens of spaniards that were born in Mexico)

He was the first Mexican patriot, and the one responsible for the cry of independence.

He paid with his life for this dream, but it was his death what inspired the quest for independence and freedom, he was a deeply spiritual man.

Miguel Hidalgo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What are your thoughts on him? could his achievements be compared to those of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi?
