Agreed. Word was the big reason the US didn't grab all of Mexico because the Indians. IMHO if Mexico was mostly "white"; that would've been the end of that country. Def racism but racism was quite "PC" 150 years ago. Tho Chiapas would've been turned into an Indian reservation unless the people living were murdered 1st IF the US went in there.

The gringo's lied and practically stole the land with big guns, and a few dollars, so what the settlers did on the east coast they contnued to do...in the south... money n guns- sigh- but some times things go full circle, who knows how it will all end one day. The greed of some people have caused the death of many, wonder if those greedy folks make it to heaven. Just because it is history, doesn't make it right...

Both gorups are foreign invaders of that land so there is no need to point fingers.

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago, which ended the Mexican-American War, was signed in 1848 (and included a $15 million payment to Mexico, equivalent to $400-500 million today). The Gadsden Purchase occurred in 1854, and the US paid Mexico $10 million for that land. The US purchased that land because it would have been needed for a proposed transcontinental railroad (which ended up further north).

I'm sure the SAME could be said about Indian tribes who came later AND took down the older nations before 1492. Too; this is 2014 so it means nothing except for history. If the Aztecs, Comanche and so on WANT to really push the issue; they need to talk to Spain, France and England because Mexico and the US and Canada became countries about 250 years later. Tho those 3 European countries ain't guilty of a thing in 2014 since all of what happened was 100's of years ago.

Why would the US want it? A land of deserts and dirt poor people. Millions more added to the welfare rolls. No thanks.

War, hah, what it isn't good for, absolutely NOTHING. LOL.

Violence is not the answer. It's the only solution!

Lol! The OP has a valid point.

Here are a couple of short wilkipedia links on the Mexico's genocidal war against American Indian tribes. Notice on the following link that Mexico was at war with the Apache's until 1915!!! Also notice that the Apaches fought the Mexicans for over 250 years!!!

Scoll down on the Tohono link to the discussion on the border and the tribal members trapped in Mexico.

I am surprised that more Arizonian's are not demanding the return of their lands.
Why would we want it? We have enough problems already.
