Ancient Greece and Rome were actually quite prudish by modern Western standards. Again, nudity doesn't mean sexual liberty, and the existence of ancient porn from those cultures actually pales compared to what is only a click away on my computer.

The mongols. Isn't a good portion of the worlds population is a descendent of Ghengiz Khan and his Mongol horde? Im sure the mongols loved Russian, Persian, Chinese and Arab women.

No. The British Empire and most of the European empires since the fall of Rome were probably more uptight about sex then modern America is.

I want to ask you....which civilization was the most freakish or open about sex? Because the more I read of Rome the more I am convinced that the ancients were far adventurous than we are. In India we had books written on the art of making love. Even taboo customs(like homosexuality) were open to extent in Ancient Greece.

So what knowledge do you have that you'd like to share here. Any great books that delves into the sex lives of the people? Which civilization do you think were really the bastion of sex according to you?
This might be of interest to you, especially what Bertholet says in the video:

This is down to one man and one man alone: Gengis Khan.
Most Mongolians, then and now probably haven't been out of Mongolia.

This is not true. Actually Ancient Greece and Rome were very liberal until the Christian customs made their way into their society. Internet porn doesn't mean people are liberal. Back then they bathed nude in giant public pools.

Again, fairly untrue.

Rome in the Republican days was extremely conservative. Homosexuality and promiscuity were universally derided. I offered some examples earlier of how homosexuality was denounced and probably illegal , but another thing that I might add is that Scipio Africanus, the man who literally saved Rome from Hannibal, was almost ruined by sex scandals with women.

A very conservative society early on. Bathing nude just means that men were comfortable with male nudity. It has nothing to do with sex.

As for Greece, much more sexually promiscuous by today's standards, especially in regards to homosexuality. But with the caveat that there was no "Greece." There were Greek speaking city states, some of which had their own norms. In Sparta, for example, a man would lose citizenship if caught in a homosexual act.

Christian mores certainly made an impact on Greek and Roman sexuality, but even a basic study of morality and sexual behavior in classical Greece and Rome will reveal that they were way more uptight than popular perception.

And I don't know how else to phrase this, but even if people did get up to some business in bath houses, nude bathing and other public nudity does not equal overt sexuality or constitute sexual behavior in and of itself.
