Stronger connection than you think here. A lot of the very words and concepts that have come to be associated with Christianity, such as the soul, come from Greek philosophy.
The early Catholic church read the ancients and made strong connections themselves. For example, they came up with the concept of the "Natural Christian Man" because the life of Socrates so paralleled that of Jesus. They looked towards some of the Greeks as sort of proto-Christians.
The theory of one God wiped out Greek mysticism; much of Greek philosophy (the Christian Heaven came from Plato), polemics/law, and biology/math/science remain.

The whole of Israel nearly succumbed to Greek thought and ways in the Ptolemy period, and large parts remained. Jesus consistently used the rhetorical question method, a direct mark of the Stoic influence, for example. Many of the second wave of disciples were Greek. Neo Platonists lasted well into the 6th century and I recall reading that many scholars trekked to the Persian Empire to attempt to convince the Emperor to adopt some of the various Greek philosophies pedaled, this being around 530 AD.
1st Century AD Christianity had no influence, 2nd Century AD little better, less than the Moonies have in the US and Korea now (e.g.Washington Times is a Moonie owned newspaper)
