I remember my relatives arguing about Watergate, but my earliest memory is "man on the moon." I was probably 6 or 7 years old. I vividly remember seeing the first images of men bouncing around on the surface of the moon. It was in the late afternoon and I remember Walter Cronkite came on TV with a special news bulletin--the first images from the moon.

I distinctly remember listening to the news with my Dad on the losses of B-52s over Vietnam in Dec 1972.
I also remember Nixon's landslide victory in Nov 1972.
I remember the 1972 Munich Olympic Massacre in September 1972.
I remember looking up at the moon trying to "see" the Apollo craft, but I cannot remember which mission.
I remember hearing of the San Fernando Quake in Feb 1971.

I lived in Libya from 6-9 years of age so politics was 100s of miles away. We didn't really hear of much as kids when there. The last political thing I remember was JFK being shot/killed.
