Very interesting man, William Still. PBS produced a show about him a few years back. He was present when the crate Henry 'Box' Brown had mailed himself to freedom in was opened. He also discovered that one of the fugitives he helped was a brother he had never met, who was left behind when their mother escaped. And while he faced charges in the Jane Johnson case, it was Passmore Williamson who awaited trial behind bars.

His relatives in the news recently are Devon and Leah Still. Former KC Chief defensive lineman Art Still was also a relative, as was classical music composer William Grant Still.

You're up.

I guess I'll step up to the plate.

I've been thinking about this one for a while but held off because I didn't think it fell into the category of an historical figure but after researching a little more I decided it does. This character is known as a folktale or legend but one of two men are generally credited with inspiring him. I don't expect anyone to know the names of the two men but everyone has heard the name of the legend.
