At least 3 million peasants starved in Bengal Province, India, in 1943, partly because of the British government hoarding the rice crop. Winston Churchill hated Indians and was glad to see them starve. Bengal Famine Of 1943 - A Man-Made Holocaust

Possibly 10 million native Congolese died of overwork or starvation, during the brutal rule of Belgium's King Leopold. His men enslaved the natives and forced them at gunpoint to harvest rubber, and ivory, to finance building his palaces. Those who didn't meet their quota had their limbs cut off, or their families held hostage. The natives were paid nothing. He claimed he was doing them a favor by having them baptized Catholic. After many years, Leopold finally stopped due to gradual awareness and protest, especially by British humanitarians. All incriminating records were burned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Leopold's_Ghost

And don't forget the great Irish potato famine, when Britain failed to send wheat to the starving Irish

The Katyn Forest Massacre, in which the Soviets line up and shot thousands of Polish army officers, who ironically later would have proven valuable in fighting the Germans. How stupid.

The Nazi massacre of the entire town of Oradour-sur-Glane, France. Hundreds of local men, women, and children were herded into a church which was then set on fire and destroyed.

Jonestown Massacre

On November 18, 1978, over 900 people died in a remote commune in Guyana. A total of 909 Americans died, all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning. The actions in Jonestown have been commonly viewed as mass suicide, although some sources, including survivors, regard them as mass murder instead. It was the largest such event in modern history and resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until September 11, 2001.

I think Katyn is a well-known fact, ( even because of the Nuremberg process,) but the one I've learned only recently about, was the massacre in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.

True, but I've many ordinary Americans who never heard of the Katyn incident. The Volhynia massacre is less known. Those this incident was heinous, Poles did their share of mistreating and persecuting Ukrainians and Germans.
