I have wondered where the confederacy obtained the cannons and other armaments for the rebellion. I did not think the Tredegar works in Richmond were large enough. Did the British factories also supply rifles and pistols to the rebels?
Where was the iron works in Mississippi? If it was on the Big River that explains Grant's use of the Navy on the Mississippi. One of our first uses of a Brown Water Navy.
Just a side note, have just popped into Morrisons supermarket in rural Leighton B in England and saw a large Confederate flag printed on the bonnet of a car, that's 2 confed flags today, maybe I am missing something
