Anti-semitism can stand quite independently of Nazism. It existed before Nazi-ism appeared and still survives long after Nazi-ism has been destroyed. Today it is more noteworthy in left-leaning parties than in right-leaning ones.
Really and how doyou figure that when right wing parties court nationalists nazi sympathizers regularly?

It's been quite funny to see the left in complete meltdown recently. Just look at the Democrats desperately trying to find excuses for their loss to Trump. All kinds of theories have been put forward, "Fake News", Russian Hackers, Vote Machine tampering, James Comey, etc. Rather than just accepting the failures of the Democratic Party. The fact is that they were overconfident, got their message wrong, and put forward and extremely flawed candidate. The analogy I'm trying to make is that the extreme incompetence of the Democrats is what has allowed an outsider such as Donald Trump to win the election. The Democrats, and the establishment, would have won easily had they picked a solid candidate, and addressed things that are genuinely concerning millions of American voters, rather than wasting their time obsessing over trivial issues and identity politics.
Trump represents the establishment so do many of the Republicans on capitol hill so those who are expecting the destabilization of the establishment will be sorely disappointed. Many of these demagogues don't care about their constituents and simply are simply con artists who seek wealth, influence and to polish their massive egos.

The only reason they succeed is through convincing their base of loyal followers that everything they do no matter how heinous, inhumane or excessive is for the good of their people which under normal circumstances wouldn't fly.

Isn't it funny that now everybody claims they just knew Trump would win. I think this thread is a thinly disguised attempt at beating up on Trump and his supporters. Just read the posts that followed. I won't be surprised if it's entirely made up.

In England some guy running for a high Labor Party position made some antisemitic remarks. He got into hot water. Whether he recanted or not I don't know.

The Democratic Party in the US almost voted against Israel's right to exist. That was at the 2012 convention. The floor actually did vote against but the Chair said they voted in favor. It was a show of hands vote.

Even in Communist Russia antisemitism was becoming a threat before Stalin died. He expressed contempt for "rootless cosmopolitans", code for Jews. His expressions of contempt usually led to purges and the gulag. But he died before anything happened.
