The story of POWs is interesting. There were ruins of an old camp where German soldiers were interred during World War II near my in-laws cabin in the Chippewa National Forest of northern Minnesota.

September 11, 1985:

He was never charged with anything, and was allowed to remain in the United States, eventually becoming an American citizen.
