What was the last country in Latin America to become independent of Spanish rule?

(Excluding Dominican Republic, in which the Spanish continued to drift in and out of control, so was both the first and the last to do so.)
Just a guess....Cuba?

Yes, it would be Cuba. I had overlooked that when composing my question, I was thinking of the ones on mainland South and Central Amcrica. So reword the question to apply to Spanish colonies on the continental mainland. They all became independent whtih a 15-year span---which was the last one? And, while you're at it, which was the first?

First I would say Ecuador , last . Panama , 1903. The Spanish-American war changed the map forever..... At one time , the word was " God was Spanish " , they covered a lot of territories all around the world, in the name of the Church.

Panama, along with Colombia, was freed from Spain in 1821, and then separated from Colombia in 1903.
Ecuador was second to last, in 1822, but there was one after that.

Here's another one to send you scurrying to your Road Atlas. What is the most populous county in the USA which has no 4-lane highways crossing the county line? (Excluding AK, HI, and island counties),

When you say 4 lane highways, do you mean Interstate, or limited access with no intersections at grade, or just any 4 lane highway?

Since I cant to go every place and verity it, Ill use as the rule, any road that is not designated ad a 4-lame road on the Rand McNally road atlas. Which means a single solid red or blue line. If there is no road shown as a Limiteed Access, or as "other 4-lane fivided" (Yellow with red edging), then I consider it "not fourl lane" even though those roads may be partly four lane in places,, especially near urban areas. . The road atlas does not differentiate. Perhaps I should have said "divided 4-lane". Santa Cruz county is connected to Los Gatos with the "other 4-lane divided" SR-17. And has been, as I recall, since before 1960.

So reword the question " . . . no highway designated by Rand McNally Road Atlas as 4-lane . . "

While you contnue searching for that county on your road atlas, here is another that you might be able to think of the answer"

What is the largest city in the world that occupies a space that was virtually uninhabited 50 years ago?
