Geography is the WHITE HOUSE, (somewhat) the center of the US, just throwing a curve. Spice is a variety of life. The White House has had more then its share. I understand your point. Do what ever. Steve
Thanx for asking. I'm okay, taking vicodin for pain. The staples are pulling on the incision (6 in long). I was out of line. Forgot which thread I was on and posted the questions without thinking. The surgery has changed my level of thinking via nerve stimulation and I feel the consequences thruout my body as a result. It will not happen again (wrong thread). Steve
--?> State with the most miles of streams & navigatable waterways, largest coal reserves in the US, largest man made lakes (in both water volume & surface acreage), most natural arches
Here are my answers for states with:
1. Most miles of streams and navigable waterways = Alabama
2. Largest coal reserves = Wyoming
3. Largest man-made lakes = Nevada/Arizona (Lake Mead)
In reflecting back to my early school days (30's) in Canada, recall having a subject (class) called Geograhy. We were supplied with blank pieces of paper showing the various continents and and had to memorize each country as to location and its capital, Thus I referred to the White house. Let me quote from my 1936 dictionary; Geography..."The science that describes the earth and the places on it". Guess during time interpretations and descriptions will vary. Steve
Sorry guys, feel a little guilty on this one. I know that no one will identify so....I personally was stationed in Japan in 1951 at a tent city army camp on the slopes of Mt Fuji eastern slope. Below was the town of Yamanaka and of course Lake Yamanaka, at 2.5 sq miles, the largest of five lakes near Fuji. Many artists portray a lake and Mt Fuji in the background in their drawings and sketches. The Mountain has snow at the top all year around. Many people take pictures of a mountain or a lake from the shore but never take a photo of a mountain from the middle of a lake. I did but over the decades have lost them. As I said the view of the mountain from the middle of the lake was spectactular. I think its nice to get a first hand experinece from a living person then to read a description in a book. Thanx, Steve
