Default Uranium Shipped to Soviet Union Via Lend Lease

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0bViDVmTE

During World War II, Major George Racey Jordan was a Lend Lease control officer in the U.S. Army, and he controlled the shipment of materials to the Soviet Union. While so engaged, he observed a number of “unusual” activities. He began to record what he saw in a diary, which was published in 1952 as From Major Jordan’s Diaries.

The YouTube video in this post contains a recording of a speech given by Jordan in 1963, which begins at 5:42. Among other things, Jordan states that

• Uranium was shipped to the Soviets in 100-lb boxes (@ 22:02)
• approximately 32,000 aircraft were given to the Soviets during the war (@ 16:43)
• many U.S. patents were sold to the Soviets (@ 18:08)
• U.S. Treasury plates for the printing of occupation currency were given to the Soviets (@ 24:01)
• In 1942, Order L-208 was issued by Harry Dexter White, under which all U.S. gold mines were forced to close.
