Actually he's being the opposite of a fraud, isn't he? It's his producer's fault.

The canned laughter dropped in at especially difficult moments makes it perfect.

Cant believe they broadcast that. His show stayed popular....how numb were people?

Thanks for posting, I loved it!

You're welcome. I actually liked old Dino, but a singer he wudn't.

The shtick was that he was supposed to be hammered, of course. I've since learned that he was actually a conscientious and well-reheared performer. As you inferred, it was the audience that was usually drunk.

Oh! I thought he was just being bored and cranky and embarrassed and his producer didnt retake it. I guess the folks at home were drunk, too. Ring a ding ding.

Dean Martin didnt get his fame from his singing. To be honest, it was mostly because he was one of the handsomest men who ever walked the earth, and women lusted for him.

If you listen to some of his italian records he was a great singer. He ;santra and sammy daivs sang for tears and wre still great. In 1965 Santra gave a performance and he was nevr in better voice and that was 25 years after he became popular.Canned laughter was also used in many shows including Laugh-in in those days.Kind of like lip-sink i the 50's and 60's on american bandstand.
