Also, just saw this.

Dorothy Killgalen knew too much. All I had to hear about was the bullet hole in the windshield. And how Joe Kennedy had the election fixed, with a promise to the Mob that he'd lay off of them. Bobby Kennedy (also popped off) as Attorny General didn't go along with Joe's promise to the mob. Ms Killgalen was aware of this "agreement." Her covert trip to New Orleans was important - but wound up deadly.

All in agreement? No, we are not.

Are we determining what happened by vote?

It is 2021. After living through the last two years, I assume that all governments and corporations are lying 100% about everything unless proven otherwise. My trust in these things has been completely obliterated which will now follow me all the way to the grave.

Default Governments Lie by Necessity When They Can't Solve Problems

That is quite profound and quite true but I suspect it has been true for longer than the past two years. Certainly since the turn of the last century, governments have been expected to be all things to all people (this is the makings of a new thread). People of at best average intelligence and without corruption on a limited payroll are expected to solve essentially insoluble problems. Or the problems are soluble with a huge expenditure of money and/or blood. Examples (more details elsewhere, DM if interested but I don't want to go off-topic):
  1. Spanish Flu;
  2. Great Depression;
  3. Rise of Communism;
  4. Rise of Nazis and Fascism;
  5. Post-World War II rise of Communism;
  6. Rise of militant Islam;
  7. The "climate crisis";
  8. H1N1; and
  9. Covid 19.
The bottom line is that governments are expected to solve all of these problems. Governments have limited resources with which to do that. People living under constitutional government are unwilling to sacrifice their children to warfare to solve the problems emanating from overseas. How many people who believe that the Wuhan lab accidentally or deliberately triggered Covid would be willing to go off to fight?

An example of this kind of unreasoned panic? The Infamous "War of the Worlds" Radio Broadcast Was a Magnificent Fluke.

So what is a President or government to do to avoid hysteria? Lie of course.

The common denominator is DISTRUST in the reports and investigations.
The nature of that distrust (and any particular favorite theory) varies.
None is likely to change and especially not by those who DO tout the company line.

after all this time what one learns is all the interconnections between heretofore "patriotic" outfits and just plain mobsters

and that leaves me to believe very little separates gangsters and governments period

The highly presumptive thread title made me roll my eyes a little bit before I smiled.
