Eh...
France has bases in South America/Caribbean, The Indian Ocean, Africa, the Mid East...
The British have nearly as many as we do
Russia have them in Africa as well as in countries in their region, and Vietnam, building one in Venezuela...
China, not as much oversees but they have them...

No question. You are right. It does appear to me that race is key as to who exerts power/invades and who must acquiesce… But why? The “victors” tend to be “white” who overtake by violence in recent history - why is that?

I’m not officially Native American, but my dad was a tribal member, so I looked into the history on my own. I do wish that the history here was more truthfully represented, but I won’t hold my breath. The good and bad. Turning - forcing hundreds, thousands of years of tradition and culture into nothing more than kitsch is devastating to me. Reservations: I lived on one for a while. Wide open incarceration.

And some Native American tribes were brutal, had slaves… so your not wrong that all groups have the ability, even tendency to kill. But not all did. Humans with power and killing devices take over. Usually - all guys. : )

I guess my only point is that it hurts me as a person that we act this way. Thank you for your insightful comment.

AFRTS says it reaches US troops in, what, like 175 countries. So it is apparent we never pulled out of anywhere. But I think that inclides the Marine guard at US embassies.

There is currently no US military presence in the Philippines.

Very valid points. I can see your what you are saying as to the sad traits we humans have. This is an interesting read………we have been at it for millions of years……..

South Asia was "owned" by Europeans, from Lebanon into Pacific islands. Japan was the first to recognize that Asiatics should have their own continent, so hoped to expel the British, French, American and Dutch colonists.. To stop then, an oil blockade was organized to defend agenst Japan's effort to Asiafy Asia. To support the blockade, a massive naval force was placed in the Pacific, to which Japan and America had equal rights. When they were positioned at an island which the US had declared to be its own , Japan made a strike on that force, carefully avoiding any civilian targets. Horrible retaliatory bloodshed ensued.

25 years later, the European colonial empires in Asia were gone. Japan knew it was their time. America did not. Millions died, to achieve the same effect..

I'm not sure if you just phrased this badly, but the way this reads has me scratching my head. I don't think we ever helped win a war for Japan. Also, the vast majority of our European bases are in Germany - I don't think we ever helped win a war for them either.

"Helped to win a war" is just magnanimous American chest-beating. In a great majority of historical military excurssions, the US took sides in a civil war within borders, and the Pentagon now shamelessly admits that US troops overseas are there to defend "American interests", not America, and certainly not any human values..
