Based on the number of unplanned pregnancies, apparently some never did. Still blaming it on something other than themselves. And they keep right on breeding!

Birds have very short gestation periods, and are not very secretive in their behavior. Springtime, they get on top of each other ==> they lay eggs ==> which become chicks. Not much cause-effect analysis there.
