Correct.
When Ilived in Taiwan in the late 1950s, the KMT were confident they were going to return to the mainland and overthrow Mao’s communist government.
In fact they promised to redeem in gold these old bank notes that they gave to every American MAAG officer that advised Chiang’s nationalist army.
My dad passed it on to me, but I’m not holding my breath.
