France declaring war on Germany was unexpected and hence baseless
That justified an acceptance of a declaration of war on Hitler’s end. In war, casualties happen and peace time laws are replaced by martial law
What at that time was a crime against humanity? Where was that law written in 1939 to enforce ?
Bad yes very
Illegal no
Hitler invasion of USSr justified legally by USSR crossing demarcation lines in territory obtained before 1941

Right off the bat - its legal for two nations to gang up and divide up a third nation because its "private"? That makes it legal to you???
Annexing the Czech lands was legal? Invading neutral Denmark and Norway was legal? Invading the neutral Low Countries, including the Netherlands (something even the Kaiser would not do) was legal? Overthrowing the German constitution, the SS, the Holocaust! You can literally write a book about all the "legal" things that Hitler did.
