I am a living American author whose novels are nearly all set in a certain large American city which is not in New York or California. But I never lived in that city until I was in my 20s. I was married to a person who was a national of a country that is considered these days to be evil. My books have won a Pulitzer Prize, and been adapted for a movie that was nominated for an Oscar. I never do interviews or book tours.

Fascinating story Clay Lady. It sounds as though you had quite a career. It's nice to be paid for something that is a passion. Something else worked out in part due to your efforts.

LOL At first I thought you were talking about my very own personal life work - which is my passion and pays somewhat well.

I grew up in North Carolina, and married an Iranian, and a dog was one of the principle characters in my book-movie that was nominated for an oscar. There was a best acting Oscar awarded for it.
