i have always what would England/ Great Britain be like today if the Romans didnt invade in 1066?

What do you think England/Great Britain would be like if the Romans didnt invade?

there wouldnt have been a monarchy which means there would have been no Queen Victoria, Prince Charles, or Princess Diana,

They didn't-that was the Normans.

The Roman invasion was centuries earlier.

Well the English had kings before the Normans showed up. Harold Godwinson was the last Saxon king of England and was killed fighting the Normans at Hastings.

There would have been a monarchy as the extant peoples had monarchies.

A high probability would have been that the Germanic tribes would have invaded a few centuries earlier. The Romans kept them at bay for several centuries until they abandoned the island circa 6th century CE.

If the Normans had not invaded in 1066, other Vikings would have kept up the pressure on the island anyway. If the Saxons were able to keep them away, which they couldn't for several centuries prior to 1066, then it would remained a Saxon country similar to the Netherlands or low Germany. Since the current royal family is not English, but German, not much difference there.

Around 43 A.D. when the Romans invaded. Roman Generals Vespasian and Plautius led the successful invasion over the fracturing Britons (Celtic tribes) at the time.

By 60 A.D. the Iceni Celts almost suceeded in driving them out but Roman Gov General Seutonius outnumbered almost 10 to 1 conquered them and that was it until the 400's.

The Vikings were pretty much Christianized and burned out by 1066. Shortly before the Norman invasion Harold Godwinson had defeated the last Viking invasion of England at Stamford Bridge, near York, and killed the Norwegian king Harold Hardrada.

There are theories that If Harold had not had to cross the country with tired troops from the Stamford Bridge, they might have done better at the Battle of Hastings...and then.. back to the point...what if the Normans failed?

The Normans where actually Vikings- that had adapted to the local culture;learning French
etc........After 1066 England became 'French' at least its language became softer- to this day the English & French have more in common then they believe.
