You didn't specify favorite for what so I'll go with Ed Gein. Seriously messed up to mythical proportions. Quite possibly one of the most fascinating characters of the last 100 years.

Ronald Reagan

His time as US President coincided with the best times of my life personally. He was not directly responsible, but the amazing swirling changes of those days were heady times.

I met him (as President) a couple of times, unexpectedly during my time as a volunteer for the National Park Service in the Washington DC area. A fine man with no artiface, whom you would like immediately. Had the irish gift for talk and that twinkle in his eye.

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen here in the nation's capitol, was RR's funeral. Folks from all over the country, an incredible assembly lining every street and waiting in lines all night long to pay their respects.

Thomas Jefferson, my favourite American revolutionary, who said:

"As revolutionary instruments (when nothing but revolution will cure the evils of the State) [secret societies] are necessary and indispensable, and the right to use them is inalienable by the people."

Our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. Past, present and future. Without them, none of us could enjoy the simplest of pleasures as free men, women, and children. I pray that we as citizens, never allow their sacrifice to have been made in vain.
