1876: Thomas Edison receives a patent for the mimeograph. It will dominate the world of small-press-run publication for a century.

Before the inkjet printer, before the laser printer, before the dot-matrix printer, before the photocopier, there came the mimeograph machine.

Greatest inventor of all time, we owe him a debt of gratitiude for his hard labors. Unlike many other inventors, he did not quit after he made his money. He had the talent and used it, always. His feud with Westinghouse over AC vs DC only shows that he was, in fact, human. You cant win them all and be right every time. I think its a shame that you can find the Westinghouse name on many appliances today, but Edisons name is found on nothing in the modern household.
