Refractors were the earliest type of optical telescope. The first practical refracting telescopes appeared in the Netherlands in about 1608, and were credited to three individuals, Hans Lippershey and Zacharias Janssen, spectacle-makers in Middelburg, and Jacob Metius of Alkmaar also known as Jacob Adriaanszoon. Galileo, happening to be in Venice in about the month of May 1609, heard of the invention and constructed a much improved version of his own based on his understanding of the effects of refraction. Galileo then communicated the details of his invention to the public, and presented the instrument itself to the DogeLeonardo Donato, sitting in full council. Galileo may thus claim to have invented the refracting telescope independently, but not until he had heard that others had done so.
Advances in calendrical studies and astronomy were made during the Song dynasty (960-1279)
Song Dynasty troops used telescopes to spot for the field artillery
More probably a *seeing glass* a very primitive and elementary form of a telescope, used long before the Song by the way, the problem whit constructing a proper telescope is that you have to shape the glass in a perfect conclave shape before it is used, it is far from as simple as it sounds.

Huh? How do you define "seeing glass"? If it involves light refraction, it was not invented by the Chinese. And, the astronomy they did was with their unaided eyes, just as Ptolemy and many others of Classical Civilization did, and before them Arabs. Astronomy does not equate to telescope.
No man, its the Koreans. Look how they kicked butt during the Olympics, not bad for a country of about 50 million people. Japan despite three times more people still can't out medal the Koreans.
this question makes perfect sense. south american countries have a system like this. certain countries at least think they are better than any other countries. if you don't believe me, try calling someone from columbia, a "mexican."
Mexico is in South america?
BTW I don't think you have a clue about Latin ranks.
The Japanese have always considered themselves more advanced, in most respects, be it culturally or in the field of industry and science, and the facts are, that Japanese have led these fields, and in many ways have been superior to all other Asians. Unfortunately, a militant attitude of obedience coupled with industrial prowess and an insatiable appetite for destruction led to an arrogant attack on Pearl Harbor which would reduce all of these gains to smoking ash
not really.
Japanese was way behind China hundreds years ago.
Japanese have history of borrowing/copying other advanced countries throughout their history. First from China and Korea later US. Not too much originality came out of Japan.
First from China and then European countries,US is the last one.

LoL I guess Americans never copied anyone's technology?
Besidez, the Japs did more than just copy, they generally also improved the copied design.

He's actually right - many Hispanics will react in much the same way if you call them Mexican. Hispanics tend to have a lot of pride, and for some reason, Mexicans are looked at as the lowest of the low, and to be called one is almost to be insulted. Of course this isn't always the case, but I believe you'll see this a lot.
There's a lot of tension between Hispanic groups.
