What I see in these photos is not the fact of how hard things were, but how the people coped and got through them...a lesson for today...Sure built character...
Yes that is a fantastic link.. I got that page in an e-mail a while back. The first real good color film.. talk about amazing. The New York one with the boats just blew my mind!

The color sure adds MORE life to the people and the surroundings!!
One other thing, notice that despite how poor these people were, that they all dressed in suits, ties and shoes. These people, as a hole were simple but yet much more mature then people today.
