I found this interesting, I didn't know anything about this particular brick-in-the-mouth myth. I need to brush up on my vampire mythology.

The Plague certainly made people do strange things and hold strange beliefs. I came across thihs while I was searching for something else, which happens frequently. It is bizzare, but in a creepy way, quite beautiful, too

Portugal has a "Church of Bones" as well that I went to a few years ago. Complete with a couple rotting dead guys hanging from the walls. The cryptic sign in portuguese at the entrance said something like "our bones await your bones". Didn't look to different from the church in your pictures.

Did you ever wonder what would possess them to do things like that???
Was it considered some sort of honor or,as the one with the bodies.. just a warning of what was to come??
