This thread is being formed in response to a thread about the 1950's. My personal opinion: I was born in the mid 1980's(1986). The decade I liked best is the 1990's. Alot of you out there might have different perspectives on the decades you like. I would tell you some of my perspectives, but I want to save that for when this thread gets going. Which decade is/was your favorite? What did you like about it?

The 70's....for sure....

If you were a child, the 70's were awesome....as a working class adult, I'm not to sure...they had to deal with a lot, adults that is...off the top of my head they had to deal with
1 Vietnam
2. fuel embargo/ crisis/ shortage
3. Oddly enough, a economic recesion (late 70's)
4. The rise and fall of Disco
5. Bell bottoms
6. The death of Jimmi Hendrix (or was it 69?)
7. The death of Bruce lee
8. the emergence of Punk Rock
9. The Ford Pinto
10. And the Brady Bunch

Gotta love those 70's....

11. Shag carpets, can't forget shag carpets...
12. And song's like 'made love in my Chevy Van'...
13. The best most memorable songs come from the 1970's....
14. I can't remember a single song from the 90's...well maybe 10.

15. So many popular movie remakes are from the 70's...
John Travolta was thin and 'hot'...
16. Stallone came out in the movie 'Rocky'....
17. Burt Renolds was still a sex icon back then...
18. Lee Majors was too, The bionic man...
19. Real saturday morning cartoons worth watching...
20. we also saw the 'death' of muscle cars for about a decade.

Anyways that's my very short incomplete take....

Default I was born in 62

I have fond memories of 1972-1974, then 1978-1981. Something ethereal about the 70's that the 80's lacked

1960's The music was a billion times better (as was the TV) and more important events happened in individual years than in whole decades later.

I like the 1990's. I don't know if it was because I was a kid in the 90's, but things seemed more hopeful back then. It seemed like there was more decency in the 1990's.

What I liked about the 1990's:
Nickelodeon
PBS
The multicultural 1990's
A sense of relative decency compared to this decade
I wasn't as cynical back then

For me, the 1990's were basically my childhood. It was like this new open world, this big world. The world really wasn't smaller, but it seemed like a more encouraging time. I look back on those days with nostalgia, and sadness knowing those days are over.
