<DIV id=userbody>The Western Military Historical Society, is looking for men and women who would like to Re-enact great battles of WW2. At present we have an American unit, a Russian unit, a German unit, and now forming up a Partisian unit.
Spend a weekend out in the woods, fighting, sleeping and eating the same way they did in WW2. We wear uniforms correct for the period, and all original weapons from the war. Including A LOT of machine guns. All legal. We have many vehicles. Troop transport trucks, armor vehicles, and motorcyles with side cars. All period correct. By choosing your unit you live different than other units. Such as in the American army when your out in the field you sleep in big canvas tents with wood stoves, and have GI sleeping bags. If your a German you sleep in small 4 man tents with just wool blankets. Same with food. As a German you eat lot's of sausages, and potatoes. In the American Army it can be roast beef, Chicken, or K-rations. Depending what the situation is. Expect things a little more sparse in the Russian Army.
We fire full charged blanks, very loud with a flame out of the end of the barrel. Which you will see on the videos below. When you battle you know when someone has shot you. You take the hit and remove your helmet. We fight untill one side has lost all their soldiers.
Women can join the Russian unit, German unit, and the Partisian unit. Women in the German unit are only service and support and do not fight. Women do engage in combat in the Russian and Partisian unit.
We have loaner gear for all units. If you like what you have experienced then it's up to you to start buying your own gear. We allow time for this. Expect to pay a lot of money for the entire German impresion. American Army is a little less. Russian Army is less than the American Army. The least expensive is being a Partisian.
We are the fastest growing club on the west coast.
Keep in mind that we are students of Military history and honor the memory of soldiers on all sides. We do not allow extremists of any kind in our club. That would include Neo-Nazis, skinheads and others with similiar beliefs.
Here is a German video from our last event.

Here is a Russian Video

We are working on getting a American video up
Come join us. We have many events a year. We put one at Ft. Steven's every year it's a public battle, Expect many hundreds of people watching you battle, and we are supported by the Park Service. We also have events on Army bases and they approve of us. Which should put any fears to rest that we are some wacko renagade group. The US government would never allow us to be on their property if we were not who we say we are.
I served in the Army for many years. For everyone it means different things. For me it's like reliving my youth again. Putting on the uniform, standing in ranks, and living like a soldier again.

Here is a note from the German Unit Commander:
Hallo Kamerad, I am Norbert Biber. the unit commander for the 2nd SS reenactment unit based in the Northwest. Thanks for your interest in our unit.
We are a hard core authentic group that prides ourselves on being well organized, drilled and authentic in our dress, tactics, comportment and weapons.
We are the largest group Axis or Allied in the NW and within our unit we have two 222 armored cars, a Kubelwagen, an original truck, 2 captured Jeeps, 6 BMW motorcycles with side cars, a horseback mounted recon unit, 6 heavy machine guns (MG 34s and 42s), a mortar section and approx 60 well motivated men.
We hold events almost every month. If you would like to be a part of all of this and check it out we have lots of loaner gear and weapons for new guys. When someone new comes in we welcome them 100% and never make anyone feel like an outsider. We have a great time around the fire at night or in the barracks so come on out .
Though we reenact an SS combat unit we do not tolerate any racist or hate group politics, we are totally non-political and within our ranks we have law enforcement and many active and retired military personnel.
Please feel free to contact me for more information and we hope to see you in the field with us some day. For more information go to 2ndss.net

Gee, I'd like to participate but all my free time is taken by my activities with the Cold War Re-enactor groups.

Aren't you the person who once saved a room full of schoolkids during the Cold War when you selflessly threw your body over some unread socialist propaganda?

They were horribly subversive works advocating fluoridation of our water and desegregation of our schools. We suspected our teacher was a com-symp.
