listen to no one. everyone is out to get you. all the money on the table is yours. when you sit down..one of two things is going to happen, you're getting up with a huge stack, or you getting up with nothing. safe poker is stupid. risky poker even more so. think through situations on your own...never ask for advice...never give it. if you see a flaw, exploit it. above all, it's you vs the cards...not the idiot playing them.ie its all business.

Kinda seems like it is you against the person betting...then it is you against the cards. Since a well placed bet can chase you off the winning hand you are holding.
I read Gus Hansen's book...pretty interesting...I don't think I could play like he does...but it has opened me up to playing a lot looser.
Imo, its all about the cards. People are variable, cards aren't. Play the math...
If you start making decisions based on people, you better know them extremely well. Against most random people, they all suck, to various degrees, so as long as you play the cards their money becomes yours eventually.
